The goemba is located in Rangjung town in Tashigang district. The goemba is constructed on a ridge overlooking the Rangjung town. The monastery was founded by Garab Rinpoche in 1989. The monastery architecture does not resemble the traditional Bhutanese monastery and is believed to be a replica of Bod Mindruling in Tibet. Only the roof and the pinnacle of the monastery characterize Bhutanese architecture.
The monastery is home to about 150 monks and the goemba organizes many festivals. The most popular is the Drubchen.
